Yes. While attending coaching clinics around the country we have had a range of college coaches (Division I to Junior College) tell us that MaxPreps is a major tool in their recruiting process. Even more, we regularly get emails from excited coaches telling us of a player of theirs that was discovered through MaxPreps! What We Cover
1. Does MaxPreps cover JV or Freshman programs?
Yes! As of the fall of 2010, MaxPreps now covers JV and Freshman teams. Are you a JV or Freshman coach? Request access to your team's administration here.2. What about Sophomore teams?
Currently, our non-varsity coverage only includes freshman and JV teams. As we gather more information about what states and sports support sophomore teams, we will look to add them in the future.3. Does MaxPreps cover club or AAU sports?
Unfortunately, at this time MaxPreps covers only high school teams.4. What sports do you currently cover?
You can find the sports we currently cover here. We are always working on adding new sports, so check back often for updates!Trouble Logging In
1. Do I use “Coach Login” or “Sign In”?
If you are a coach and it is your first time signing up with MaxPreps, use Coach Login. If you are a coach and haven't accessed your team since last year, use Coach Login. If you are a coach and have linked your team to your account, or you are a parent, fan, athlete, etc. - use Sign In.
2. I selected “Forgot my password” but never received an email.
First, check your junk and spam folders. If you still don't see it, call us at (800) 329-7324 ext. 1 and we can easily look it up for you!3. What do I put in username and password for Step 3 in “Coach Login”?
You don't have to put anything if you have an access code for your team. Just leave it blank. If all you have is your old coach login (example: FranklinFB123 & Cougars456) then you can enter it here to link that team's administraton to your email. Ideally, you should have and use the more current access codes to do this instead.Stats on MaxPreps
1. Where do the stats on MaxPreps come from?
All stats entered on our site are from the head coach or delegated to another member of the coaching staff such as an assistant or official statistician. Please note that MaxPreps does not enter any stats on MaxPreps.2. I’m a parent and these stats are wrong. What do I do?
You should contact the head coach of the team to make the correction. If it is an obvious data entry error (such as '999' instead of '9'), feel free to contact our support team and we will reach out to the coach to get it fixed.3. I’m a coach and I just entered stats for last night’s game. Why don’t I see them?
Our site is cached, so there is a 30-60 minute delay from what is entered on the administrative side to when it shows on the site for everyone to view. If you've waited the hour and still aren't seeing your information published, please call us at (800) 329-7324 ext. 1.4. How does MaxPreps verify that stats are accurate?
Stats are entered by coaches or affiliates of the team. All of the stats entered are displayed directly to the website; therefore MaxPreps has a self-policing system. If stats are questioned by another coach or user of MaxPreps, MaxPreps employees will contact the coach entering the stats. Some stats are also validated against the game scores.Leader Boards & Rankings
1. How do the MaxPreps Rankings work?
The rankings system utilizes the huge number of game results stored in the MaxPreps database. Generally, the more a team wins the higher the ranking, but the system takes into account quality wins (against other highly ranked opponents) and strength of schedule. Other factors include when MaxPreps has incomplete or inaccurate information. If we are missing a schedule or a score, report it to us. The more games that are played, the more accurate the rankings. Also, playoff games are weighed 2.1 times what a regular season game is.2. How often are they updated?
Football rankings are updated Monday evenings. Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Girls Basketball and Baseball rankings are updated Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Soccer rankings are updated on Tuesdays. Softball rankings are updated Mondays and Thursdays.3. Are there any other requirements to appear in the rankings?
A team must have played three games before they will appear in the rankings. For sports like softball and soccer, this minimum will increase as the season goes on and more games are played.4. Why isn’t my athlete on the leader boards?
If an athlete doesn't show on a leader board, check that they make the minimum requirement for that statistic. If the athlete isn't showing on the league leader boards but makes all the minimum requirements, that means the coach enter 'season to date' stat totals making that athlete ineligible for league leader boards.Team Page Questions
1. My team doesn’t have a roster or schedule listed. How do I get that posted?
Email your roster and/or schedule to roster@maxpreps.com or fax us at (530)676-2814. Please include the school's name, city, state and sport (include the season if it's relevant). We are happy to post these and they are up within 3-5 business days!2. My team doesn’t have a link to stats. Why?
If you don't see a link for stats, that means that the head coach for this team hasn't logged in to enter them! Please reach out to the coach and ask him to post the stats on MaxPreps. If he/she is concerned about time, tell them they can delegate the responsibility to anyone they chose.3. The schedule seems to be missing some pre-season and post-season games.
MaxPreps doesn't cover scrimmage, alumni or foundation games. Also, we don't post playoff games until the they are played.4. How do I correct an error on our page, like an incorrect coach name?
